About The Position
American Engineering is seeking a Mechanic Shop Assistant to support technicians and mechanics by helping keep the shop clean, organized, and operating efficiently. This role includes assisting with basic tasks, handling tools and equipment, and providing general shop support.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of tools and automotive equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist mechanics with routine shop tasks.
- Clean and organize work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Move vehicles in and out of service bays as needed.
- Retrieve and store parts, supplies, and tools.
- Help maintain inventory and stock levels.
- Dispose of waste materials safely and follow shop safety procedures.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks under supervision.
- Assist with vehicle check-in and shop housekeeping duties.
