MY Mechanic Apprentice
About The Position
American Stone is hiring a full-time Mechanic Apprentice to assist with maintaining and repairing quarry equipment and fleet vehicles. No es necesario que hable bien el inglés. Pay: $18 to $20 per hour depending on experience. This position is ideal for someone dependable, hardworking, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn diesel and heavy equipment maintenance in a hands-on quarry environment. You will work alongside experienced mechanics performing inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment and diesel systems while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to perform physical work and lift heavy objects
- Ability to pass drg screening
- Candidates must be willing to provide professional references during the hiring process
Nice To Haves
- Experience with tools, welding, automotive work, or heavy equipment
- Experience working outdoors or in physically demanding environments
- Technical training or certification is a plus
- Spanish is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist with inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment
- Assist with diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment
- Help maintain hydraulic systems, brakes, suspension, and transmissions
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assist mechanics with troubleshooting mechanical issues in the field
- Learn proper safety procedures and equipment maintenance practices
