About The Position

American Stone is hiring a full-time Mechanic Apprentice to assist with maintaining and repairing quarry equipment and fleet vehicles. This position is ideal for someone dependable, hardworking, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn diesel and heavy equipment maintenance in a hands-on quarry environment. You will work alongside experienced mechanics performing inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment and diesel systems while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to perform physical work and lift heavy objects
• Ability to pass drug screening
• Candidates must be willing to provide professional references during the hiring process

Nice To Haves

• Experience with tools, welding, automotive work, or heavy equipment
• Experience working outdoors or in physically demanding environments
• Technical training or certification is a plus
• Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment
• Assist with diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment
• Help maintain hydraulic systems, brakes, suspension, and transmissions
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Assist mechanics with troubleshooting mechanical issues in the field
• Learn proper safety procedures and equipment maintenance practices
