This position is responsible for actively pursuing and correcting problems with components and systems throughout the facility. The role requires thorough knowledge of automated packaging machinery operation, troubleshooting, and repair, as well as pump theory, operation, and repair. It also involves a strong understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic principles, applications, troubleshooting, and repair. The mechanic must be capable of reading and interpreting electrical schematics, working safely with both low and high voltage circuits, and diagnosing electric motor, motor control, and device control problems. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting and repairing electrical control and power circuits, as well as electrically controlled equipment, including PLC controlled and solid-state equipment. Welding (gas and arc) and soldering skills are necessary, along with basic knowledge of typical facility and manufacturing support systems such as steam, hot water, compressed air, and refrigeration systems. Basic plumbing and carpentry skills are also required. The mechanic must be able to identify and order parts and materials from manufacturers' manuals and prints, communicate both oral and written instructions, and complete the Standard Timing Model mechanical test with a score of 60% or higher. Ensuring compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety, food safety culture, quality, and facility cleanliness is crucial. Other duties as assigned.
