About The Position

Under supervision, installs and maintains equipment in accordance with standard trade practice and safety regulations. Monitors HVAC system performance via computer (BMS) system and make adjustments as required. Monitors Refrigeration Equipment, Packaged Air Conditioning, and Ice-Making system performance through regular inspections or in response to trouble calls and make adjustments as required. Evaluates basic operational and controls issues for all equipment. Takes proactive steps to keep all systems operating within the desired/established parameters. Works with others or alone in the troubleshooting and repair of equipment as required. Performs preventative maintenance (PM) as assigned, including control system calibrations, and the maintenance of equipment and systems across the campus. Performs safety and environmental inspections as assigned. Carries walkie-talkie or cell phone furnished by Hospital and responds promptly to all requests initiated by the Supervisor or Work Control. Follows appropriate hospital policies, procedures and protocols, and completes necessary documentation as assigned. Documents work in detail as specified by management to ensure that an accurate history of maintenance and repair can be maintained. Makes decisions based on clear instructions and operational rules and procedures, and escalates problems with equipment or systems to management as appropriate. Ensures proper care and use of spare parts, tools and test equipment. Maintains technical knowledge of current standards, codes and procedures regarding safe and effective use of medical or engineering equipment through formal instruction. Meets Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety requirements and/or all other applicable regulatory requirements. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work at heights. Must be able to carry and climb a 6 foot ladder. Must be able to work independently. Performs other duties as required.

  • 1 year basic or mechanical repair experience
