We’re looking for a Mechanic 4 to join our Patrol Division to perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance on our fleet of emergency vehicles in a mechanic repair shop. The Mechanic 4 plays a key role in repairing and ensuring our fleet of patrol vehicles is properly maintained.

Requirements

• Three years of experience or training as a mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Performs repair/maintenance and inspection related activities on vehicles and small engines
• Perform oil changes, lubrication, filter, proper fluid levels, radiator hose, batteries, etc.
• Checks lighting and wiring systems to ensure proper operation of emergency lighting systems, headlights, spotlights, taillights and parking lights
• Locates causes of malfunction by inspecting major component parts such as gears, rings, pistons, rods, gaskets, crankshafts, valves, seals, etc.
• Orders and installs replacement parts
• May inspect work performed by contract vendors
• May operate wrecker to recover and transport inoperative vehicles.
