About The Position

The Mechanic 1 is an entry-level technician who uses mechanical training to support fleet maintenance operations and keep Gravity’s equipment on the rental “ready line.” The role involves becoming familiar with product knowledge and branch quality standards, and learning standard operating procedures at the branch, regional, and national levels to support career growth.

Responsibilities

Work with ethics, honesty, values, and integrity, and demonstrate professionalism to others.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on Gravity-owned fleet equipment.
Operate and test equipment to ensure it meets Gravity quality and efficiency standards.
Under direct supervision, perform routine maintenance and repairs, including oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements, and other services on small fleet equipment and trucks.
Diagnose rental equipment with assistance from senior mechanics.
Under direct supervision, perform major repairs and parts replacements using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
Enter work orders through the fleet management system.
Keep the work area clean and organized.
Complete monthly safety and equipment-related training.
Answer the Company-issued cell phone during on-call hours in accordance with Company and safety policies.
Perform other duties, responsibilities, or tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
