That's WEIS! This position is responsible for keeping meat department cases well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand. The associate will greet customers, make suggestions, and answer questions about various cuts and preparation of products. They will also take orders for future delivery, help fill special requests, and resolve customer concerns in a prompt and courteous manner. Responsibilities include setting up displays, rotating product, ensuring meat is fresh and in saleable condition with proper prices and signage, and handling spoiled or damaged product according to company procedures. The role may involve grinding and cutting meats and poultry, weighing and wrapping merchandise, and maintaining logs to track freshness and quality. Adherence to all food and personal safety codes, and general sanitation in the department are crucial. This includes following cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure work areas, equipment, and display cases are well-maintained and meet health and OSHA requirements. Proper disposal of trash and emptying bone cans are also part of the duties. The associate will assist in minimizing shrink and controlling damages, and report shortages or overages to the manager. Depending on training, the role may involve assisting with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries, as well as baling cardboard. Cooperation with co-workers and superiors is expected to ensure the smooth function of the department and store, with a focus on continuous improvement of job performance and utilization of all company-provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE). The associate may also be called upon to assist in other departments.
