About The Position

Join our overnight team as a Meat Room Custodian and help keep our store clean, safe, and running smoothly. We are hiring individuals who take pride in maintaining a clean environment. No experience is required, as we provide all the necessary training. This role involves cleaning and sanitizing meat room equipment, sweeping and mopping floors, assisting with light maintenance, and managing waste disposal according to store procedures. You will also be responsible for cleaning restrooms, breakrooms, and employee areas, wiping down high-touch surfaces, and operating basic cleaning equipment. A typical day includes reviewing the cleaning plan, ensuring equipment is thoroughly cleaned and reassembled, maintaining sanitation standards, restocking supplies, and adhering to safety protocols including PPE use and safe chemical handling. You will also complete end-of-shift logs and report any safety or sanitation issues immediately.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize meat room equipment, tables, cutting surfaces, and tools.
  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize trays, pans, containers, and utensils used in meat processing.
  • Sweep, mop, and clean grocery store floors, including aisles, restrooms, and back-room areas.
  • Assist with light maintenance tasks such as replacing trash liners or cleaning entryways.
  • Remove trash, cardboard, and food waste following store sanitation procedures.
  • Clean and disinfect sinks, drains, and surrounding areas.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and employee areas.
  • Wipe down walls, doors, cooler handles, counters, and high-touch surfaces to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Operate basic cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers (training provided).
  • Clean spills and remove debris to maintain a safe shopping environment.
  • Restock cleaning supplies and notify supervisors when inventory is low.
  • Follow store safety and sanitation procedures during all cleaning tasks.
  • Safely take apart and reassemble machines to ensure every part is thoroughly cleaned.
  • Dispose of waste and packaging materials in the correct containers.
  • Report low inventory or equipment problems.
  • Follow all cleaning procedures, including PPE use and safe chemical handling.
  • Complete end-of-shift cleaning logs and required documentation.
  • Stay alert for safety or sanitation issues and report concerns right away.
