About The Position

Reporting to the Food Store Manager, the Meat Manager will play a key role in
providing leadership and guidance in supporting the overall business objectives
of the department. As a hands-on leader, the Meat Manager will be responsible
for day-to-day execution of tasks within the meat department and work alongside
team members to deliver exceptional service adding value to our customers.

Requirements

• You have a Grade 12 Diploma
• You have 3 – 5 years experience in a supervisory role and leading others, previous retail supervisory experience is considered an asset
• You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do
• You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives
• Physically capable of performing dynamic and static movements, repetitive motions, and repeated lifting of up to 50 lbs unassisted

Nice To Haves

• Meat cutting experience considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Maintain staff levels by recruiting, selecting, orientating, developing personal growth opportunities and training employees
• Achieve results by communicating job expectations via planning, monitoring, and appraising performance through talent management, including coaching and disciplining employees
• Ensure all staff adhere to Co-op standards regarding merchandising, signage, staff appearance, housekeeping, health & safety and loss prevention.
• Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements; prepare annual budgets; control expenditures; analyse variances and initiate corrective actions.
• Foster a positive work environment that promotes a strong culture of engagement within the department
• Achieve established objectives in terms of brand, service levels, quality, and timeliness of delivery and identify areas for improvement.
