  • Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs regularly
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Commitment to workplace conduct standards and company grooming and uniform policies
  • Willingness to maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to work in a temperature-controlled store with occasional exposure to varying temperatures

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations and performance of the Meat Department to ensure strong sales, fresh product availability, and compliance with company standards.
  • Lead, schedule, train, and supervise meat cutters and meat clerks to support productivity, safety, and customer service excellence.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service, including fulfilling special orders and providing customized meat cuts to meet customer needs.
  • Ensure food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance through proper handling, temperature monitoring, culling, and inspection of meat products.
  • Manage inventory by ordering product, checking deliveries for accuracy and quality, conducting monthly inventories, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Execute merchandising programs, pricing integrity, markdowns, and attractive meat displays in alignment with division guidelines.
  • Review operational and performance reports to identify opportunities for improvement and drive department success.
  • Safely operate and oversee the use of meat-processing equipment such as saws, grinders, tenderizers, and knives.
