Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a meat cutter or butcher.
  • Proven experience in retail management, preferably in a meat department.
  • Knowledge of meat cutting techniques and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the meat department, including ordering, receiving, pricing, and merchandising of products.
  • Supervise meat department staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards, including proper handling and storage of meats.
  • Monitor inventory levels by ordering and restocking to meet customer demand.
  • Prepare and cut meats according to customer specifications, ensuring quality and freshness.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to customers in selecting meats and answering questions about cuts, preparation methods, and cooking tips.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the meat department to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with store management and other department managers to achieve department goals and objectives.
