This position requires previous Meat Cutting experience and the candidate must be a JP Meat Cutter. Requirements

  • Must be a Journeyperson Meat Cutter
  • Interest and enthusiasm for meat/cooking
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Flexibility to work mornings/afternoons/evenings/weekends/holidays
  • Demonstrates self-discipline and accountability
  • Must be accurate and detail-oriented
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and trust with a diverse group of staff, customers and vendors
  • Expertise in selling and merchandising creatively
  • Must possess intermediate computer skills including MS Office
  • Ability to have full body mobility (bending, stooping, twisting, & reaching) and excellent manual dexterity
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess a strong desire to work hard, be enthusiastic, participate in achieving management goals, and lead by example
  • Willingness to take calculated risks to maximize sales
  • Exemplifies health department standards
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. regularly
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Open availability required

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist leadership in the needs of the department
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Oversees the seafood and meat department in the absence of the managers
  • Procures of product - best quality & price
  • Develops creative & aggressive merchandising plans
  • Orders & manages all supplies & products
  • Trains & works with staff to ensure quality & standards set by leadership
  • Supports department sales & labor budget, grosses, and reports
  • Ensures proper merchandising & signage on all products
  • Keeps the POS department updated on scannable price changes
  • Develops & maintains vendor relationships
  • Role models’ attitude of service to staff and customers
  • Manages, maintains and tracks shrink & inventory
  • Stays current with industry trends, standards and changes
  • Stays current with all training including online training and professional development opportunities
  • Maintains department cleanliness, product freshness, & variety
  • Ensures the dissemination & adherence to all company policies
  • Adheres to proper waste management and recycling procedures
  • Maintains adherence to all security & safety policies
  • Operates within the Company’s Core Values and Company Brand
