About The Position
The Meat Clerk is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. Working within the Meat Department, which includes both fresh meat and seafood, the Clerk demonstrates a commitment to providing outstanding customer service while actively contributing to an environment of employee and customer engagement.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Above average communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
- Ability to work in refrigerated environments.
- Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings and weekends.
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail or customer service experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of fresh meat and seafood products is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to meet customer needs.
- Prepare, package, merchandise and replenish fresh meat and seafood products.
- Maintain department standards, including product presentation, rotation and inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation and health & safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment.
- Support department operations by stocking, replenishing and merchandising products.
- Perform other duties as required.
