About The Position

Responsible for meat operation including but not limited to preparing, storing, cutting, cleaning, and serving meat. This role involves monitoring food distribution, ensuring guidelines are followed, and maintaining cleanliness of dishes, equipment, and facilities. The Meat Cutter is responsible for stocking coolers, cases, and displays, observing scheduled shift hours, and providing friendly, courteous, and prompt service to all customers. Key responsibilities include maintaining good communication with the meat manager, sharing responsibility for controlling shrink, and properly recording all hours worked. The position also assists in maintaining accurate bookkeeping systems for meat purchases, controlling shrink through inventory and ordering, and assisting in inventorying all products on hand before prepaying a meat order. The Meat Cutter assists the Meat Manager in taking meat inventory and ensures product rotation upon receipt and stocking. Additionally, they are responsible for ensuring meat coolers and cases operate at the proper temperature, that proper safety procedures are used, and for properly cleaning and maintaining the meat department, coolers, cases, and equipment.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, store, cut, clean, and serve meat.
  • Monitor food distribution and ensure guidelines are followed.
  • Clean and sterilize dishes, kitchen utensils, equipment, and facilities.
  • Maintain coolers, cases, and displays by keeping them stocked.
  • Observe scheduled shift hours as assigned by meat and/or store manager.
  • Give all customers friendly, courteous, and prompt service.
  • Maintain good communication with the meat manager.
  • Share responsibility for controlling shrink.
  • Properly record all hours worked.
  • Verify and sign the time ticket report.
  • Monitor food preparation and serving.
  • Assist in recording and maintaining accurate bookkeeping systems for weekly and monthly meat purchases.
  • Assist in maintaining proper records to control shrink through inventory and ordering.
  • Assist in inventorying all products on hand before prepaying a meat order.
  • Assist Meat Manager in taking a four-week period meat inventory.
  • Ensure that product is being rotated when received and stocked.
  • Ensure that all meat coolers and meat cases are running at the proper temperature.
  • Ensure that proper safety procedures are being used.
  • Properly clean and maintain meat department, coolers, cases, and equipment.
