Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Successful completion of an apprenticeship/training program.
Previous experience in a grocery retail setting
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Ability to lift and move heavy items and stand for extended periods
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Knowledge of grocery products, merchandising techniques, and inventory management
Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

Cut, grind, wrap, weigh, and price all meat, fish, and poultry products.
Code date and rotate all prepared cuts or products placed in storage areas to ensure proper rotation, quality, and freshness.
Ensure meat case and refrigerated cases are adequately stocked and faced at all times.
Handle damaged and/or spoiled products according to company policy and assist in controlling levels of damaged goods.
Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product inquiries, locating items, and resolving any customer concerns.
Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the department at all times.
Assist in receiving and unloading merchandise and store products in designated storage areas.
Collaborate with your team to implement effective merchandising strategies, including product displays, promotions, and signage.
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and product pricing.
Stock and rotate products to ensure freshness and reduce waste.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
Follow safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Embrace new challenges and be a flexible team player, taking on responsibilities as needed.
