Meat Cutter Apprentice
About The Position
Rosauers Supermarkets is seeking a Meat Cutter Apprentice to join its customer-focused grocery team. The role includes participating in a seven-module Apprentice Meat Cutter Training Program and preparing meat for sale while helping customers and supporting store operations. The position involves working with cutting tools and equipment, maintaining product displays and quality, and following food safety and sanitation controls. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, complete a pre-employment background check, and have a Food Workers Card. The role may require travel, flexible scheduling, extended hours, holidays, and weekends. It also involves standing or walking for extended periods, lifting heavy items, using hand tools, and working in cold environments. Benefit eligibility may depend on role, length of service, store location, hours worked, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Complete a pre-employment background check.
- Have a Food Workers Card.
- Be able to travel and work a flexible schedule, extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed.
- Be able to use hand tools, stand or walk for extended periods, lift heavy items, and work in cold environments.
Responsibilities
- Attend and participate in the seven-module Apprentice Meat Cutter Training Program.
- Greet and speak with customers, answer questions, help locate items, and provide recommendations.
- Cut, trim, prepare, and package meats for sale.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
- Ensure displays and signage are accurate and attractive.
- Weigh, package, label, price, and display products.
- Perform quality inspections on meats and other products.
- Follow food safety and sanitation controls.
- Unload deliveries or order pickups.
- Cooperate with others to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties to support the overall success of the company.
