Requirements

  • Make Someone’s Day: Bring genuine enthusiasm to work daily. Get that warm, fuzzy, tingly-from-head-to-toe feeling when helping others – staff and guests! See getting to “yes” as a super-fun challenge! Readily and freely interact with every guest. See guests leave happier than when they arrived. Use positive energy to bring teammates up when they are having a tough day. When you smile, everyone smiles.
  • Move fast and be thorough: Work with a purposeful sense of urgency. Achieve excellence in your job to complete tasks quickly, efficiently, and with great skill, while looking up and connecting with each guest. Get the job done and do it well.
  • Create a team people want to stay on: Contribute genuine, positive energy to an upbeat, effective team where you and your co-workers thrive and express a desire to stay and to grow together. Treat teammates with respect and kindness every single day. Offer empathy and an open ear. Bring special skills to the team that are respected by your teammates and see the value in others’ skills and talents.
  • Show Up: Show up to work. Be fully present for your teammates, our guests, and our trade partners. Be a reliable, invested member of the team. Bring authentic, positive energy to work every day. Deep down care.
  • “What can I do?”: Say "What can I do?" and "How can I help?" because the collective goal of the team and the store is bigger than the task at hand. Anticipate the needs of your coworkers and the guests and be proactive in helping others.
  • Come with a solution: Have a keen eye for identifying pain points in our systems, but always come to the table with a solution to offer. Think outside the box, be creative in solving problems, and adapt to change with grace. Always speak up and let us know what you need!
  • Own it: Hold yourself accountable and be accountable to your teammates. When there is an issue, ask yourself, “What can I do to help fix it?” When there is success, celebrate! Details matter, and be attentive to all of them.
  • Seek knowledge: Love learning and be naturally curious. Love feedback; it is an opportunity to improve ourselves. Reflect deeply on feedback by frequently looking inward and evaluating your own performance at HL.
