Meat Counter Associate
About The Position
The Meat Counter Associate sells Harmons’ fresh meat products by providing remarkable customer service. The role involves educating and assisting customers at the meat service counter, stocking meat cases, maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the meat service case, and promoting and sampling products both in the department and throughout the store. The associate also helps maintain appropriate product assortment and inventory, ensures pricing accuracy and signage, and receives and stocks products. The position involves regular interaction with store associates and customers.
Requirements
- A current Food Handler’s Permit.
- Enjoy and have experience preparing, cooking, and eating a variety of meat products, including beef, pork, chicken, turkey, and seafood.
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures.
- Excellent organization and planning skills.
- Solid verbal and listening skills to communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates.
- Ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for personal and team success.

- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities
- Follow established departmental and store policies and procedures.
- Ensure the quality and freshness of products and services provided by the meat department.
- Maintain appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the meat service case.
- Confirm pricing accuracy and signage for meat service case products, with attention to advertised items.
- Clean and sanitize the meat department daily, including dishes used in the department, and meet company appearance standards.
- Receive and stock products in the meat department, including stocking the self-service and full-service meat cases.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
- Educate customers about the ingredients, taste, and other qualities of Harmons’ fresh-cut meat products.
- Promote meat products through sampling at the service counter and throughout the store.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
