About The Position

As a Meat Clerk, you will help guests find high-quality meat and seafood, assisting with selections for various occasions. This role involves answering questions, recommending cuts, and ensuring meat cases are well-stocked, fresh, and ready. You will provide top-notch service at the meat and seafood counter, restock and rotate products, and help maintain the department's smooth operation. Requirements

  • Ability to effectively engage with guests, leaders, and retail sales associates.
  • Utilize strong written and verbal skills to work with a crew in a fast-paced environment.
  • A willingness to learn food safety standards, proper equipment usage (like slicers), and inventory practices.
  • Ability to Multitask and stay customer service focused in a busy retail grocery environment.
  • An understanding of safety and food safety practices and a commitment to following them. This role requires proper training and knowledge of equipment and procedures, including: slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional guest service at the meat counter and on the sales floor, including fulfilling special orders and answering product questions.
  • Maintain fresh, well-stocked displays by inspecting, rotating, and replenishing meat products and supplies.
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
