About The Position

The Meat Clerk provides a variety of fresh meat items to customers and assists with questions and special orders while maintaining a positive, friendly, customer-focused work environment. This hands-on position receives, stores, and grinds meats, and unloads and transports fresh, boxed meats and poultry from delivery trucks. It is suited to someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and is willing to learn.

Requirements

• Able to work for prolonged periods in an environment with fluctuating temperatures.
• Able to stand for prolonged periods.
• Able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
• Available to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and follow established safety guidelines and procedures.
• Stock and maintain meat cases, including their presentation and cleanliness.
• Assist customers promptly and advise them on meat selection, preparation, and packaging.
• Walk the meat department regularly to maintain an organized and clean appearance.
• Answer customer questions and practice suggestive selling.
• Receive, store, and grind meats.
• Unload and transport fresh, boxed meats and poultry from delivery trucks.
• Perform other duties as required or requested by management.
