About The Position

This position involves providing friendly and courteous service to customers, wrapping, labeling, and pricing product, preparing product for the service meat case, suggestive selling and product sampling, receiving product from the warehouse, stocking, straightening, and rotating product in meat cases and coolers, reading and understanding shelf tags, following company safety guidelines when using equipment, providing customers with proper cooking instructions, checking and maintaining proper temperature controls for coolers, freezers, and the cutting room, and maintaining cleanliness of the work area, equipment, and meat cases following company safety and sanitation guidelines. At closing, the meat clerk will pull product from the service meat case for proper storage. Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management. Training will be provided at store level.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older to apply
  • Regular, reliable attendance
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Working on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)
  • Work in cold wet environment
  • Internal Candidates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
  • Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
  • Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
  • If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.
