About The Position

This position is responsible for cutting all meat in accordance with trim specifications and guidelines, ensuring the quality of meat products cut for display to promote optimal sales. The apprentice will learn to provide excellent customer service and courtesy, and adhere to all corporate and state sanitation procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Satisfactory Performance Reviews
  • Basic Literacy
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all customers.
  • Cuts and prepares meat using knives, saws, cubers and grinders.
  • Ensures proper wrapping, weighing, and labeling of meat merchandise.
  • Exhibits a high level of customer courtesy and service at all times.
  • Adheres to all corporate meat department procedures and standards (i.e.: case layout and trim specifications).
  • Adheres to proper sanitation guidelines (i.e.: refrigeration and N.Y.S. inspection standards).
  • Receives all meat products delivered at store location (i.e.: DSD and warehouse deliveries).
  • Controls shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a neat, clean and organized workstation, according to 5S standards, at all times.
  • Smiles, makes eye contact and thanks customer upon fulfilling customer's request.
