About The Position

HF Sinclair Midstream is seeking a Measurement Technician. This position conducts intermediate-level measurement assignments and duties for assigned Department under limited supervision to ensure the measured and scheduled movement of lease crude oil occurs in a cost effective manner in compliance with State and Federal regulations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years of on-the-job experience is required.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations (i.e. algebra) and proficiency with spreadsheet and word-processing software applications.
  • Good mechanical ability and understanding of operational principles of assigned area’s testing instruments.
  • Intermediate reading and writing skills, organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to complete all required classroom and CBT training.
  • Ability to achieve high proficiency scores.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (beards not permitted), and respirator fit test.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or Associate’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all assigned operations conform to both State and Federal regulations (i.e., DOT, OSHA, and BLM)
  • Witness Meter Proving
  • Basic understanding with flow computers, metering systems and associated equipment
  • Measures and grades crude oil receipts and deliveries by truck, pipeline and refinery LACT
  • Balances volumes between load and delivery point in compliance with policies and procedures governing operations and measurement
  • Ensures all measurement devices are operating
  • Performs quality control checks to ensure integrity and accurate measurement at point of purchase
  • Assists with design and sets up new delivery locations
  • Coordinates with all drivers and management to ensure all interactions with the assigned division flow smoothly
  • Tracks, troubleshoots, and maintains all truck and pipeline LACTs
  • Maintains daily reports as required to ensure operations are being performed cost effectively and efficiently and ensures accuracy
  • Assists with product movement gain/loss issues
  • May observe daily employee functions and assist with training needs as needed
  • Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion
