About The Position

Easterseals Florida is seeking a dependable, compassionate driver to deliver frozen meals to older adults throughout the Palatka area. The role supports seniors’ health and independence by providing meals and friendly, respectful service. The driver picks up meals at a designated office, follows assigned routes and schedules, and may bring meals inside clients’ homes and place them in a designated location. The position is part-time, working Mondays starting at 9:00 a.m. for approximately 3–4 hours per week. Pay is $15.00 per hour. Drivers use their personal vehicles for program-related needs and must meet approved driver qualifications. No prior experience is required; equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience are considered. Requirements

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Meet approved driver qualifications to drive a personal vehicle for program-related needs, including a minimum age of 21 and a good driving history.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with older adults and staff.
Ability to read and follow instructions, policies, delivery routes, and safety procedures.
Basic math, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Comfortable entering clients’ homes to place meals in designated areas when needed.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and safely enter and exit residences.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat.
No prior experience required; equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

Pick up frozen meals from the designated office location.
Safely deliver meals to seniors’ homes throughout the Palatka area.
Bring meals into clients’ homes when needed and place them on a kitchen counter or other designated location.
Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules.
Provide friendly, courteous, and respectful service to all clients.
Handle meals carefully to maintain food safety and quality.
Report concerns regarding client well-being or unusual circumstances to the appropriate supervisor.
Maintain client confidentiality and privacy.
Follow all program policies and procedures.
