About The Position
Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is recruiting for a MDS Nurse. The MDS Nurse is responsible for the coordination of the RAI process and input of the Minimum Data Set and care plans for residents.
Requirements
- Experience completing resident assessment and knowledge of the RAI process and RUG system
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse or LPN in Virginia
- MDS Certification or experience
- Point Click Care

- Nursing experience in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting
Responsibilities
- Sets reference dates in compliance with regulations for the MDS assessments.
- Ensures completion of the CAAs and development of the comprehensive care plan.
- Coordinates IDT meetings and serves as a resource person to all disciplines regarding the RAI process.
- Ensures completion of the MDS in accordance with federal/Medicare regulations and requirements.
- Provides guidance, education and direction to staff and communicates changes in policy and procedure as needed.
- Interdisciplinary team in the completion of the MDS ensuring organized nursing services for the residents assigned to the facility.
