The MDS Coordinator (RN In Person) position is responsible for ensuring the accurate completion and submission of all sections and disciplines of the MDS. This role ensures regulatory compliance set by CMS and the RAI Manual by staying up-to-date on the latest regulations, conducting audits, and implementing corrective measures needed to ensure maximum reimbursement through CMS. The position also involves implementing and updating other required assessments, initiating significant changes and corrections, and educating staff on discrepancies in ADL coding or documentation. The MDS Coordinator ensures resident care plans are initiated, up-to-date, resident-centered, and that correct interventions are developed, implemented, and evaluated for effectiveness. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, documenting findings, and ensuring regulation compliance by collecting and analyzing resident data. The MDS Coordinator signs necessary documents, coordinates MDS-related IDT meetings, and leads weekly care plan meetings. They attend scheduled MDS/IDT/Care Plan meetings, ensure daily and weekly documentation requirements are met, and serve as a resource person for the RAI process, care planning, and resident assessments. The position may also involve performing other assigned duties, assisting in emergencies, working the floor/cart during critical staffing needs, and serving in the Nurse on-call rotation.
