About The Position

FutureCare is seeking an RNAC/MDS Coordinator to join its interdisciplinary nursing team. The role involves collecting and assessing resident data, ensuring required elements are encoded in the Minimum Data Set (MDS), and submitting assessments to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The coordinator oversees accurate MDS development and completion in accordance with current RAI processes and federal and state regulations, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to support timely scheduling, clinical documentation, and quality measure evaluation. This is a full-time position with an annual salary range of $87,000–$102,000 and a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The stated salary range reflects potential base pay; bonuses and other incentives, if applicable, are offered separately. Employment offers may account for experience, job-related qualifications, location, certifications, and training.

Requirements

Active RN licensure to work in Maryland, through Maryland or a Compact State.
At least 3 years of experience as an MDS Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator, including ICD-10 coding experience.
Progressive nursing experience, preferably in a resident assessment environment.
Managerial and interpersonal skills.
Proficient understanding of PDPM and clinical documentation requirements.
Ability to build positive relationships and work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team.
Willingness to learn and teach, with adaptability to make changes when needed.
In-depth experience and knowledge of PDPM and CMI as related to Medicare and Medicaid service reimbursements.

Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate the development and accurate completion of the MDS in accordance with current RAI processes and federal and state regulations.
Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team and monitor clinical documentation to support accurate and timely MDS scheduling and completion.
Partner with the Interdisciplinary Team to evaluate Quality Measures.
Review completed MDS assessments for accuracy, using MDS software to identify coding inconsistencies and opportunities before locking assessments.
