This role coordinates care plans according to regulatory requirements, creates schedules for Medicare and Medicaid, initiates Medicare coverage, and manages denial letters. The position requires staying updated on Medicare coverage changes, determining necessary documents for Medicaid reimbursement, and directing the daily functions of nursing assistants in compliance with facility policies and regulations. The MDS Assistant also participates in quality assurance, facility surveys, and the development and updating of resident discharge plans. Administrative duties include completing medical forms, reports, and maintaining records. The role also involves safeguarding resident and facility information and adhering to privacy regulations.
