About The Position

The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces. As the Surge Support Material Specialist III- Lead, you be charged with the responsibility of leading, directing, and/or approving and reviewing the work of other employees, and is responsible for the quality and quantity of work within the group led. The lead person is specifically responsible to ensure that the supervisor’s directives are implemented in a timely, efficient manner. Performs functions relating to the technical research, requisitioning, stockage computation and replenishment, custodial record keeping, and issue, disposal, redistribution and tracking of equipment, supplies, and publications. This includes troubleshooting and problem solving related to the above functions. Also includes the use of automated systems (both hardware and software) related to accomplishment of the above tasks. Provides training and guidance to lower level employees. Performs other tasks as reasonably assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 8 years related experience.
  • Three years experience in a leadership role.
  • Complete the Computer Operator Course, or equivalent.
  • Complete basic military supply course, or equivalent.
  • Complete Combat Service Support Chief Course, or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of the organization's logistic functions and the activities involved in providing logistical support.
  • Working knowledge of information processing methodology / technology, computer capabilities, and processing techniques.
  • Working knowledge of various computer features and functions.
  • Skills to read, interpret, and correctly respond to information in the form in which it is transmitted through the computer system.
  • Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
  • Must maintain a valid passport.
  • Must be deployable within 72 hours.
  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.
