Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for our Maintenance and Utilities department in our Columbia, South Carolina manufacturing facility. As an hourly maintenance team member, you will need to work in a fast paced, high-speed environment, following standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment. Job purpose The Maintenance Multicraft Wast Gas - Utilities Technician is responsible for the safety, quality, cost and efficiency of his or her Team. The Maintenance Technician will have an in-depth knowledge of the Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Electrical Maintenance procedures. Duties and responsibilities The Maintenance Multicraft Wast Gas - Utilities Technician will be expected to be part of a team on his or her shift within the facility; including all equipment in the operational areas like the Batch, Melting, Sizing, Bushing, Packaging, and Fiber Forming/Fabrication areas and the equipment in the Maintenance areas including Compressed Air, Natural Gas, Process Water, and Fire Systems.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical maintenance procedures.
- Must have a very thorough understanding of mechanical processes that affect the plant.
- Must be able to effectively PM all equipment in the Waste Gas/Utilities areas.
- Must have a great understanding of the gas treatment, furnace system, and the batching process.
- Must be able to trouble shoot and maintain all plumbing systems in the facility.
- Must be able to understand, modify, and/or repair complicated pipe systems.
Nice To Haves
- 2 to 5 years Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance experience.
- 2 to 5 years of Manufacturing Maintenance Experience.
- HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience
- Welding with Tig, Mig and Stick welders.
Responsibilities
- Read gauges, record and understand Data.
- Change various filters, housings and maintain clean work environment.
- Must be computer literate, read and interpret charts.
- Pay attention to details to trends in data to identify issues and respond to abnormalities that may occur.
- Understand, trouble shoot and PM various types of HVAC/Split Unit systems.
- Follow Health and Safety procedures and precautions.
