About The Position

This position is responsible for setting liners in hulls, performing stringer lamination, and preparing molds. The role involves placing, centering, and rigging a press, then torquing it to set the liner in the hull. Additionally, mold preparation after maintenance, including buffing and waxing, is a key responsibility. The job requires adherence to company safety policies and procedures, and the ability to operate various tools and equipment safely.

Requirements

  • Must be able to use hand tools, including drill, grinder, and buffer.
  • Able to understand spoken instructions with regard to job training and safety concerns.
  • Ability to speak conversational English.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed finishing of all products.
  • Ability to deal with changes related to equipment use and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Set liners in hulls, apply glue and reset liner and press.
  • Center press, rig and torque onto hull.
  • Wax and buff mold and prepare for taping.
  • Reports to work on time for designated shift.
  • Adheres to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Apply wax coating on entire mold to insure easier separation from gel coat finish layer.
  • Apply masking tape to edge of in a consistent and productive manner.
  • Drill holes for introduction of foam.
  • Patch and fill holes provided for foam access.
  • Remove excess glue/adhesive from liner and press in place.
  • Safely operate lift and press.
  • Grip and provide pulling force to ratchet press to appropriate standard force level.
  • Read numerical value on molds to identify each model type.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
