About The Position

This position is for an MBSE Systems Engineer who is considered an emerging authority and applies extensive technical expertise to develop technical solutions for complex problems. The role requires considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. The engineer will be responsible for developing system requirements, performing requirements management, requirements verification, and compliance assessments to support major design reviews. They will utilize model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and engineering tools to identify program requirements, track performance metrics, and manage the systems engineering process throughout the system lifecycle.

Requirements

  • BS degree with 8-10 years of experience, MS degree with 6-8 years of experience, or PhD with 3-5 years of experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • 5+ years of experience in MBSE.
  • Experience applying MBSE principles to support complex system sustainment, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience performing requirements analysis, synthesis, and traceability for shall statement and supplemental fields evaluation, including test method and success criteria.
  • Experience with knowledge management, configuration management, and LCSP creation, including for IT programs.
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile Project Management.
  • Ability to use MBSE tools such as Cameo, to interpret and update system models such as SysML diagrams, to reflect system changes, configurations, and operational impacts.
  • Ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences at varying levels.
  • Ability to work onsite at Peterson Space Force Base.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the Atlassian Suite, including Confluence and Jira.
  • Experience with Cloud services and Cloud-native architecture patterns.
  • Experience working with or architecting solutions in AWS.
  • Experience working as a software or systems engineering and integrations lead, including cradle to the grave.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.
  • Possession of strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop system requirements, perform requirements management, perform requirements verification, perform compliance assessments in support of major design reviews, and perform model-based systems engineering using technical planning; system integration, verification and validation.
  • Use MBSE and Engineering tools to identify program requirements, track performance metrics, and manage the systems engineering process.
