About The Position

SAIC is seeking an MBSE SME to support SAIC’s large SETA program, supporting the NRO’s Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED), Advanced Ground Office. As an MBSE SME, you will shape how GED implements Digital Engineering, accelerates model-centric acquisition, and evolves its engineering culture toward disciplined, repeatable, and data-driven system development — a priority echoed across DoD and the Intelligence Community. You’ll guide enterprise modeling strategies, mentor engineering teams, and architect the digital threads that connect requirements, CONOPS, interfaces, and mission workflows across complex ground and space systems.

Requirements

  • Systems engineering
  • Systems modeling
  • Product-lifecycle management
  • Digital-thread methodologies
  • SysML/UAF models
  • Model-based requirements
  • Architecture
  • Interfaces
  • Operational workflows
  • Requirements traceability
  • Model-centric criteria
  • Technical integration
  • Model-driven engineering
  • Automated workflows

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise MBSE strategy and execution. Apply systems engineering, systems modeling, product-lifecycle management, and digital-thread methodologies to construct, curate, and steward end-to-end digital content across GED programs.
  • Capture and model customer needs, Translate mission needs into model-based requirements, architectures, and CONOPS for future NRO ground and space systems.
  • Develop authoritative system models. Build and maintain SysML/UAF models representing architecture, interfaces, operational workflows, and requirements traceability.
  • Drive MBSE thought leadership. Evolve repeatable, disciplined systems-engineering approaches grounded in MBSE principles, ensuring alignment with DoD digital-engineering guidance.
  • Support acquisition engineering. Develop model-based requirements and artifacts for SOWs, RFPs, and technical evaluations; support proposal assessments using model-centric criteria.
  • Shape future space-capability architectures. Work across multiple NRO and partner organizations to identify, define, and model future mission needs and enabling capabilities.
  • Facilitate cross-enterprise technical integration. Coordinate discussions with SMEs, government stakeholders, SETA teams, FFRDC partners, and development contractors to mature system concepts and resolve technical issues.
  • Manage technical and acquisition dependencies. Identify, track, and communicate interdependencies across programs, architectures, and contractor deliverables.
  • Champion digital-engineering transformation. Mentor teams, guide tool adoption, and help GED accelerate its shift toward model-driven engineering, automated workflows, and resilient ground-system modernization.
