About The Position

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking an MBSE Engineer. This role involves performing analysis of system operations and system decomposition using OMG frameworks such as UML, DoDAF 2.0/UPDM, SysML, and UAF. The engineer will model systems from various perspectives (capability, operational, system, functional) and at different levels of abstraction. Familiarity with UML modeling tools, particularly Cameo Enterprise Architect, is preferred. The position requires interacting with stakeholders across different system domains to analyze requirements, processes, systems, and capabilities. The role also involves extending UML-based models to other tools or environments via existing frameworks/APIs and working with executable models (fUML specification preferred). The engineer will be responsible for generating data and reports, and must exhibit strong customer service skills, presenting a positive approach to customers and peers. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5 + years of related experience
  • System Modeling
  • Systems Design
  • Unified Modeling Language (UML)
  • Familiar with UML modeling tools (Cameo Enterprise Architect preferred)
  • Familiar with executable models (fUML specification preferred)
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Secret clearance must be obtainable
  • BA/BS in an engineering discipline (e.g. aerospace, electrical, mechanical, software) with 5+ years of experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree. (10 total years of applicable experience in lieu of a degree.)

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in modeling, e.g. OCSMP (OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional)
  • Experience modeling complex systems for Department of War or other government organizations
  • Experience using configuration management/version control tools such as Git
  • Experience publishing models to web-based or document-based formats
  • Experience designing applications using object-oriented patterns (e.g. OOSEM)
  • Experience in designing applications from a published API
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high quality environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with strong customer service
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively including attention to detail
