About The Position

NextEra Energy’s MBA Summer Internship Program offers experienced graduate students the opportunity to apply their professional experience and MBA education to meaningful, strategic business challenges. During an approximately 10-week assignment at our Juno Beach, Florida headquarters, MBA interns take ownership of a strategic project aligned with the priorities of their assigned business area. Opportunities may span areas such as: Infrastructure Development, Business Analytics, Business Management, Corporate Development, Strategy, Finance, Data Centers, Transmission, Origination, and Other commercial and strategic business functions. As an MBA Summer Intern, you’ll apply your professional experience, MBA coursework, and business judgment to evaluate opportunities, solve complex business challenges, and develop actionable recommendations. Near the end of the summer, you’ll present your findings and recommendations to a team of NextEra Energy senior executives. Your experience will also include opportunities to engage with company leaders, participate in professional development and training, and network across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Currently enrolled in the first year of a full-time MBA program
  • 3+ years of professional work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results, problem-solve, and collaborate with diverse groups
  • Strong oral presentation skills and proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to work autonomously while effectively managing matrixed support teams
  • Permanent authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Interest in spending the summer working at our Juno Beach, Florida headquarters
  • Eligible candidates must be enrolled full time at a university-based school of business, pursuing an MBA and graduating in a forthcoming academic year.
  • Successful candidates selected for this program will be invited to participate based on their relevant work experience and skills such as: knowledge of corporate finance principles; strong bias for action; ability to work with limited direction/supervision; project management technical capability; and professional communications.

Responsibilities

  • Understand commercial opportunities in tactical areas pertaining to renewable energy strategy
  • Analyze and articulate economic value of various business alternatives

  • Galvanize support from internal subject matter experts
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
