About The Position

Join Amgen’s Mission of Serving Patients. Amgen is a leader in biotechnology, dedicated to serving patients living with serious illnesses by pioneering new medicines in Oncology, Inflammation, General Medicine, and Rare Disease. The Commercial Leadership Program is Amgen’s MBA talent pipeline for future commercial leaders. This summer internship offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-impact commercial project, develop leadership and business skills, and gain exposure to the commercial operations of Amgen. The internship serves as a pathway into Amgen’s full-time Commercial Leadership Program, which includes rotational assignments designed to accelerate commercial careers in biotech through foundational sales and marketing experiences. Amgen has adopted a virtual-first way of working since 2021, offering flexibility for remote or partially onsite work. Interns will own a commercial project, analyze business challenges, develop insights, and present recommendations. They will gain exposure to leaders, receive mentorship, and experience Amgen’s culture through development sessions and networking. Interns are evaluated on project delivery, leadership potential, commercial thinking, learning agility, collaboration, communication, and readiness for future growth.

Requirements

  • Expected continued enrollment in an accredited college or university following the internship program
  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship program
  • Must be available to work a full-time schedule.
  • Enrolled in a Full-Time MBA Program
  • Must be available to accept and commit to future full-time employment by July 2028, if offered
  • 18 years or older
  • Graduated with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Currently enrolled in a Full-time MBA program for from an accredited college or university, with completion of the first year before the internship starts

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Own a meaningful commercial project tied to a real business priority in areas such as Marketing, Value & Access, Sales, Patient Access & Reimbursement or related commercial functions.
  • Build deep project expertise by partnering with brand teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Analyze business challenges, develop insights, and deliver clear recommendations to internal partners and leaders.
  • Strengthen your commercial mindset by learning how Amgen makes decisions across customers, markets, products, and patient needs.
  • Gain exposure to leaders across the Global Markets & Policy organization through networking, mentoring, and program experiences.
  • Present your final recommendations and reflect on your learning, growth, and potential fit for the full-time CLP.
