The Production Supervisor may supervise one or more areas of the shop floor to support the manufacturing, loading and shipping of all orders to meet and exceed the customers quality and delivery expectations, while maintaining established safety and cost standards. The Production Supervisor must understand and support all plant safety procedures and ensure all operators follow Standard Operating Procedures.

Requirements

  • Must have high school or GED diploma
  • 3+ years of supervisor experience in manufacturing
  • Proficiency in basic math skills
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and written
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree or trade, vocation or career schooling a plus
  • Quality experience a plus
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Knowledge of machinery and packaging equipment a plus
  • Good decision-making skills
  • 6-S & Lean Manufacturing experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Effectively work and communicate with a team to continuously improve quality, safety, efficiency, and productivity
  • Oversee production lines, review downtime causes and be actively involved in issues on the floor by assisting in troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Create, maintain and audit Standard Work to ensure process consistency and efficiency.
  • Develop, mentor and manage manufacturing personnel, ensuring they are properly trained to utilize equipment and tools effectively.
  • Supervise up to 30+ production hourly employees.
  • Review, adjust and approve timesheets and adjust work force based on workload.
  • Promote and maintain clean, safe work area throughout the plant by proactively identifying and addressing the hazardous conditions.
  • Follow company policy and procedures (safety, quality, productivity, discipline, order, human resources, and continuous improvement).
  • Lead production employees in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support additional lines, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
