About The Position

The Matt Lead will oversee and lead production employees in the mattress build department (Coils, Foam Encase, Mattress Build Up, Kitter, Tape Edge, Tufting, Handtied, and Box Upholstery). The Matt Lead will have familiarity with SAFETY standards. They will have experience in leading, coaching, and training personnel on product quality standards and mattress/foundation box building procedures throughout the department.

Requirements

3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing facility leading large production teams (20+ employees)
Combination of experience with Foam Encase, Matt Build, Tape Edge, Box Spring/Foundation
Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a practical, methodical way while working with a sense of urgency
Use required PPE Personal Protective Equipment: Safety Glasses, Safety Vest, and Gloves

Nice To Haves

Experience with use of pneumatic tools

Responsibilities

Organize the workflow at the beginning of the shift to ensure continuous production flow to achieve daily production schedule and hourly targets
Ensure every piece goes through the correct matt build process from scanning to pack out
Uphold quality standards throughout the matt build process while completing the daily production schedule
Train and coach team members on tasks based on job assignments
Generate continuous improvement ideas and align with management
Maintain continuous communication and collaboration with other department leads/supervisors, and Expeditor to ensure on-time completion of production pieces
Cover/assist on the production line as needed
Lead and motivate a team of production associates to achieve productivity, accuracy, and safety targets
Maintain a safe, clean and orderly workstation. Sweep work area and remove debris regularly throughout the shift
Other duties may be assigned as needed
