About The Position
This is a fully remote contract role for people pursuing or holding a PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Experts help fine-tune large language models by applying mathematical and analytical skills to create and evaluate math problems and improve benchmarks. Work is offered at $100+ per hour, depending on the role and the candidate’s expertise, with flexible weekly hours and assignments of up to 40 hours per week. Contract assignments have defined start and end dates. No AI experience is required. Shortlisted candidates complete an evaluation before selection.
Requirements
- Be pursuing or have completed a PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Have strong mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills across advanced domains.
- Communicate complex ideas clearly in writing and provide structured feedback.
- Complete an evaluation if shortlisted.
Responsibilities
- Design advanced mathematics problems to test AI performance, including multi-step reasoning, abstraction, and symbolic manipulation.
- Develop clear, step-by-step solutions using rigorous logic.
- Evaluate AI outputs for accuracy and quality of reasoning.
- Collaborate with researchers to refine benchmarks across undergraduate- to PhD-level mathematics topics.
