About The Position

The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of: MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) Schools 31, 37, 43, and 97 Math Coach (0.5) / Support Math Teacher (SMT 0.5). This is a recruitment bulletin for the 2026-2027 school year.

Requirements

  • At least five years of appropriate and approved teaching experience
  • New York State certification in Mathematics or Elementary Education with a minimum of 9 hours of credited mathematics content courses or Elementary Education with a math extension.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Next Generation Learning Standards
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Leadership and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to provide adult professional development and classroom support.
  • Proficiency with technology is required.

Responsibilities

  • Guiding and assisting teachers and administrators in the implementation of district mathematics programs
  • Guiding and assisting teachers with unpacking and understanding the Next Generation Learning Standards
  • Guiding and assisting teachers with planning lessons, in co-teaching models, by modeling lessons, etc.
  • Guiding and assisting teachers/teacher teams with planning for RtI/AIS lessons, by modeling good practice/structures for small groups, with planning and implementing RtI/AIS stations, etc.
  • Collaborating with, guiding, and assisting teachers in the implementation of best teaching practices and the use of instructional technology
  • Designing, planning, and facilitating professional development on the use of math curriculum and math instruction
  • Guiding and assisting teachers in the implementation of valid and reliable assessment tools
  • Assisting teachers with reviewing and analyzing student data to assist in determining appropriate student interventions and necessary program modifications
  • Assisting with the development of action plans based on data, and supporting this implementation
  • Intensively monitoring mathematics programs, strategies, and materials for students who are performing below grade level
  • Reviewing and analyzing student diagnostic screening and progress data, as well as outcome assessment data, to assist in determining appropriate student interventions and necessary program modifications
  • Teaching RtI/AIS classes
  • Pulling small groups of students and pushing into classrooms to provide targeted instruction and interventions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Mathematics Department or building Principal.
