About The Position

Math Corps is on a mission to ensure every student has the skills they need to succeed by providing high-impact tutoring. As a Math Tutor, you will spend your days at a local school helping students improve their math skills. The program provides training on proven activities and ongoing coaching. Tutors work with small groups of up to 3 students for 20-30 minute sessions, repeating this process until all assigned students have been served. The role involves encouraging and celebrating student growth and building their confidence.

Requirements

• Dependable and have a history of good attendance
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback
• Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing
• 18 years of age or older with a highschool diploma or equivalent
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States
• Ability to successfully complete a background check

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult who's focused on helping children thrive
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training
• Share your experience with the community
