About The Position

Under the supervision of the Director of Educational Development, this role plans and facilitates collaborative math tutoring sessions for elementary, middle, and/or high school students. The tutor will meet regularly with the Director of Educational Development, plan and facilitate group and/or 1:1 math tutoring sessions, assist students in developing study skills, completing homework, and exploring topics of interest. The tutor will also model appropriate academic and social behaviors and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to work with students of diverse ethnic backgrounds, academic profiles, and skill levels
• Possess good interpersonal and organizational skills
• Must demonstrate responsibility, a desire to help others, discretion, and flexibility
• Knowledge of academic content and skills
• Application of such knowledge and tools to help students access material
• Ability to collect and analyze data to drive future instruction
• Ability to work independently applying critical thinking skills and problem solving to various situations
• Extensive teaching and/or tutoring experience in math

Responsibilities

• Meets regularly with the Director of Educational Development

• Maintains consistent communication the Director of Educational Development
