About The Position

HeyTutor is seeking 6 Math tutors to support middle and high school students, primarily focusing on 9th grade Algebra, during regular school hours in Allentown. Tutors will be responsible for supervising students to help them overcome learning gaps. This role requires comfort with in-person background checks and is ideal for those passionate about education, seeking consistent tutoring hours, or wanting to contribute to their community.

Requirements

• Must have completed an AA or higher, or be currently enrolled in college
• Tutoring experience (great at working with kids)
• Must be comfortable tutoring in High School Math, Algebra I & Algebra II
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting
• Clear FBI-DOJ background check (provided through us)
• Must be comfortable passing an IN-PERSON background check

Responsibilities

• Working with groups of students without the support of a teacher or school site staff
• Prepare area to start tutoring session
• May be responsible for picking up and dropping off students from designated areas in school site
• Take attendance and run lessons through HeyTutor Dashboard (if applicable)
• Document student progress with HeyTutor Dashboard
• Facilitate students taking and completing baseline and summative assessments when requested by manager
• Leading a group of students in the tutoring session, using curriculum and materials provided by the program
• Creating an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging that kids want to be in
• Supporting students in making positive behavior choices
• Engage and interact with tutoring lessons alongside the students
• Daily clocking in and out of Deputy for shifts
• Any other duties that may be required by the Company, your manager and/or the School Site
