About The Position

Think Zone Learning Center in Irvine is hiring a part-time math tutor to help K–8 students build strong math foundations through engaging, personalized instruction. Tutors provide one-on-one support, help students understand math concepts, encourage problem-solving and critical thinking, and build students’ confidence. The center provides the curriculum, materials, and training, so lesson planning is not required.

The role is designed to fit around school schedules and typically involves 6–12 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours. Tutors are expected to work 2–4 shifts per week. Available shifts are Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Wednesday and Friday from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and Saturday from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM or 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Saturday availability is strongly preferred.

The program dates are June 2, 2026, through June 5, 2027. Pay is $17–$19 per hour. The position offers opportunities to develop teaching, communication, and leadership skills, with potential career progression to Lead Tutor, Assistant Manager, and Learning Center Manager.

Requirements

• Have a strong foundation in math.
• Communicate clearly and patiently.
• Be responsible and dependable.
• Enjoy working with children and helping others learn.
• Be able to encourage and motivate younger students.
• Be currently in high school and at least 16 years old, currently in college, or have a high school diploma.
• Work 2–4 shifts per week; Saturday availability is strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching or tutoring experience is a plus, but is not required.
