About The Position

Math Corps Math Tutors serve at a local school, helping students improve their math skills through structured, small-group practice. Tutors work with groups of up to three students for 20–30 minutes at a time, following a schedule throughout the school day. They help students transition back to their classrooms between sessions and continue tutoring until all assigned students have been served. Tutors encourage students as they build math skills and confidence, and receive training and ongoing coaching to deliver the program’s activities. Positions are for the 2026–27 school year and run from January 2027 through June 2027.

Requirements

• Be dependable and have a history of good attendance.
• Be able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Have basic computer skills, such as using email and navigating online.
• Be fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent by the start of service.
• Be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
• Participate in coaching and training and commit to personal growth.
• Share your experience with the community.
