About The Position

Saga Education is a national leader in high-impact, in-school tutoring, leveraging human capital and technology to accelerate student outcomes and create more equitable learning. Since 2014, Saga Education has reached over 30,000 students, supporting families, educators, and districts through its proven tutoring model focused on relationship building. This is a federal work-study position open to students with federal work-study eligibility, offering remote, part-time employment from September 2026 to May 2027, with a compensation of $25/hour. The role involves providing virtual math tutoring to middle school students, gaining valuable experience, and making a meaningful impact while focusing on one's own education.

Requirements

Federal work-study eligibility.
Willingness to learn and apply high-impact tutoring techniques.
Willingness to learn how to use Saga Education’s proprietary virtual platform.
Ability to engage and motivate middle school students.
Passion for education and making a positive impact.
CORI/SORI background check (arrangements will be made for out-of-state volunteers).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience and adaptability in working with diverse learning needs.
Ability to support two students at a time.
On-camera presence is required during tutoring sessions and other activities necessary to fulfill the essential functions of this position.

Responsibilities

Provide virtual, high-impact math tutoring to 6th-grade and 7th-grade students.
Support two students at a time.
Prepare and deliver engaging math lessons using provided curriculum.
Participate in asynchronous high-impact tutoring training led by Saga Education.
