About The Position
Provide tutoring to assigned students on FranU’s campus to support their success in Mathematics courses. Assist students in developing course-related knowledge, study strategies, and problem-solving skills. Tutoring may cover College Algebra and College Pre-Algebra and may be provided individually or in small groups. The tutor adapts approaches to individual student needs and fosters an encouraging, professional, and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics or a related STEM field.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate professional and appropriate behavior.
Responsibilities
- Provide tutoring in College Algebra, College Pre-Algebra, or other assigned subject areas.
- Provide academic tutoring in individual or small-group settings.
- Help students understand course-related concepts and develop academic skills.
- Help students develop effective study strategies, problem-solving skills, and independent learning habits.
- Adapt tutoring approaches to meet individual student needs.
- Foster an encouraging, professional, and supportive learning environment.
- Serve as a positive role model for students.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, faculty, staff, and other members of the university community.
- Maintain a safe and encouraging environment characterized by FranU’s missions and core values.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
