About The Position

Mathnasium of East Wichita is seeking a part-time Math Tutor/Instructor to join their team. The mission of Mathnasium is to make math make sense, building students' confidence, understanding, and love of mathematics. They pride themselves on providing an exceptional math experience to students in the greater Wichita area. The position requires availability for the entire school year (2026-2027) and beyond. The company fosters a supportive, encouraging, energetic, and fun environment where employees can use their math talents to positively impact children's lives.

Requirements

• Exceptional math competency through at least high school Algebra 1 (higher is better). Must pass a math competency exam prior to being hired.
• A passion for working with students.
• Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be an outgoing person.
• Excellent verbal communication skills. Spoken English must be clear, distinct, and easily understood.
• Must be comfortable with digital technology.
• Able/willing to work on site.
• Instructors must have a cell phone or similar device.
• Availability of at least 4 of 5 days from Mon-Fri; and at least two Saturdays / month in the school year.

Nice To Haves

• Any kind of prior experience with children is a plus.
• College students should review their Fall class schedule and compare to the hours listed, as the company tries to work with class schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional math instruction using Mathnasium teaching materials.
• Assess student progress
• Evaluate and correct student work and math homework
• Provide individual student instruction in a small group setting.
• Assist with occasional non-teaching/instructional tasks
