About The Position
The Upward Bound Program is seeking an enthusiastic and certified Math Teacher to inspire and support high school students. This part-time, seasonal position involves teaching engaging mathematics lessons to high school students, preparing lesson plans, assignments, and assessments, monitoring student progress, and fostering academic success. The goal is to create a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment to help students build confidence, strengthen math skills, and achieve their college goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education, Secondary Education (Math), or related field.
- Active Pennsylvania Mathematics teaching certification.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Zoom.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with diverse student populations.
- Current Act 33, Act 34, and FBI clearances (issued within the past 5 years).
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel to Mercyhurst University and meet employment eligibility requirements.
